break mpg movie into jpgs.. help provided ;)

mikey needs help:

but have you any recommendations for software/program that will take an mpg movie and break it into jpgs?

anything other than irfan view?

actually my answer is it depends… on what you want to do.
if you just want to take a capture of one shot during the movie, then the solution you have is quite suited. actually any video player has this option.

if you want to get several images taken periodically during a movie… then you might need a video processing software. for these kind of activities i often use camtasia. (i’m not sure though it will do this kind of action).

but maybe there’s someone here that might just help… so does anyone know better? :)

  2. i have a few mpgs taken by my sony digital. within these mini-movies are some excellent shots, as single jpgs. isn;t there a program that will bust the big mpg into individual jpgs? it’;s not a screen shot i ant, i want the whole movie in single jpgs…

  10. ok..so mikey i wandered around the web and this is what i found out..
    you can convert your movie into jpg images with this program AVD Video Processor http://www.avlandesign.com/vp.htm
    it’s a trial..but it’s very good and easy to use
    you can set the dpi size, type of image (jpg, gif, bmp etc.)
    i hope this helps
    you can use it for free for 20 days
