		<description>another method would be to place the word file in indesign. open up the links and there should be all the pictures that you had in word. then select all and right click on mouse and "unembed link" and choose "no". Then you choose a folder in wich to deploy the files (any folder) and then you have the files and that's it.</description>

		<description>wow - brilliant (for Mac user, at least). I really appreciate your insight. Saving me much time.  As Ralph said, grabbing the web clip from Word or even getting a screenshot is not always good enough.

Bruce, I presume the images folder is located in the same location as where the Word file is... is for me.

it doesn't work that way though. at least not on a pc. maybe on a mac that works.

one other pro of this method is that this way, the link indesign link to the image is still valid so if you modify it than this reflects on the layout.
