I dont know but i always use intel hardware great stuff mostly high quality never have issues when I start with a good board and chip!

wanted opinions on what the best university in Florida is for a graphic design/computer animation major? However, it has to be a STATE UNIVERSITY, not a private school, such as Ringling.

For example, after college I’d like to get a job designing publications for print (like movie posters and such), or doing effects work/animation for movies (such as ILM [Industrial Light and Magic]).

THEN You DEFINITELY want to go the OS X route. OS X and Windows have different type-rendering algorithms.
OS X is better for: Web Design working
Windows is better for: Every-day reading, writing, etc

OS X is meant so that what you see on the screen is what you get out of your printer.
Windows is meant so that what you see on the screen is NOT what you get out of your printer, BUT it is easier to read and write in daily life.

I recently switched to iMac and I think I’m enjoying the “real”-font rendering that OS X does…

long time no hear from me:
webee, I’d stick to a Sony Vaio, they have not let me down for three continious years.
I had to send it in twice, but it always got repaired and returned quickly.
I got a new display twice because of a pixel error.
using a mac as a designer is a clear stereotype, or atleast I feel so.
I love my pc(s) and would not change for a mac in years.
it is always a matter on how you “use” it.

i’ve had some really it-horrible week. i have decided to invest in a macbook pro. but for the momment i don’t have the money for it. so i’ve got my computer a memory upgrade and started raising some good money.

I used Windows for years, then bought a MacBook. My PC is now gathering dust. Windows is just too stressful - it’s great when it’s working fine, but it does seem to degrade after time - like a banana left in sunlight - in no time at all, it becomes soft, mushy and useless.

I’m not a Steve Jobs groupie but my experience says ‘get a Mac’.

Buy a PC, pop in it just good quality hardware (not things like assrock and other shitty hardware you find in romania). 2 GB of ram, a core duo and you’re done :). Mac is waaaay to expensive and the software for it.. etc
